John Wood To Host Muddy River Showcase
Summer basketball is in full swing, and the Muddy River Showcase is here once again.
The fourth annual Muddy River Showcase, which will feature 40 of the top senior boys and girls basketball players from the region throughout Illinois and Missouri, will take place Saturday, June 21 at John Wood Community College's Student Activity Center.
The girls game will tip at 2 p.m. with the boys game to follow at 4 p.m.
The games will be about bragging rights as the all-stars from the Prairie State and the Show-Me State will go head-to-head with 10 players selected to be on each team. Tickets will be $10 for the event and will be available at the door. All seats will be general admission.
"For us from a community college standpoint, we are committed to this area and this community in a variety of ways," John Wood Community College athletic director Adam Hightower said. "So, we're excited to continue hosting this great event here at John Wood Community College and providing a great gameday atmosphere. The history is great with student-athletes who have played in previous all-star games. Personally, and professionally, we are excited to host and to keep the opportunity to showcase seniors prevalent and still moving year after year."
The last three showcases have proven to be great environments and allow area athletes to play one last game in their high school careers.
