Dahl Named New Men's Basketball Coach

John Wood Community College has announced the appointment of Jonny Dahl as the new Head Men's basketball coach. Dahl will take over a trigram that has rich tradition and one that has been a staple in the Tri-states community for many years.

Coach Dahl is a graduate of Keokuk High School in Keokuk, IA, where he led the program in points and rebounds multiple times. After high school, he went on to play at Division one Stephen F Austin (TX) and Northern State (SD), before ultimately coming back home to play for former Blazers Head Men's Coach Brad Hoyt.

Coach Dahl has many connections in the coaching world, ranging from the Division one level and AAU seen. Coach Dahl founded and ran the AAU program Crossover Hoops Elite for several years, before starting his own travel team.

Interim Athletic Director Adam Hightower said bringing Dahl on board is a great fit.

"The idea was to bring in a highly qualified coach and obviously I think we've been able to do that with hiring Jonny. His name is very well known in this part of Illinois and I'm excited to see what he can do with recruits," Hightower said.

Coach Dahl and his wife Missy reside in Quincy, with their two kids Brecken and Blakely.
